Great Gift Idea - Recollections Calendar Kit

This post is brought to you by Michaels but all opinions and ideas are 100% my own.

My favorite gifts to give loved ones at Christmas are those that are heartfelt and meaningful. In my mind, I think these gifts should be handmade… and naturally as a memory keeper I want to include photos of my growing family, so for the past several years I have labored over building calendars from chipboard, assembling, and even binding them on my own. These calendars truly are a labor of love and take numerous hours away from my girls during the holiday season. While my family appreciates them I know there has to be an easier way! So imagine my excitement when I tried out this calendar kit.

This Recollections Calendar Kit from Michaels would make a perfect heartfelt gift for someone you love. It takes the hard work out of making a calendar, but not the beauty. It's a calendar and scrapbook in one! It's a 12-month blank wall calendar that allows you to display your favorite pictures throughout the year and record memories.

Here's what comes in the kit:

1 chipboard album, 12 blank calendar pages, 13 monthly dividers, 12 photo pocket pages, 2 sticker sheets, 42 designer 3x4 and 4x6 journaling cards, 1 pen, and a gift box to keep it all together. All of this for only $39.99, exclusively at Michaels stores.

The journal cards that are included in the kit are amazing!!! I love them!! They are so versatile! All of the holidays are featured, including Canadian holidays and Hanukkah. If you don’t celebrate a holiday you can easily flip the card over for a neutral design that could work with any design of the year.

This calendar was super simple and super quick to put together. You can put the calendar together in the page protectors with or without photos.

I am planning on incorporating it into my memory keeping this year by adding important events as they happen in the calendar, as well as photos in the photo pockets. My favorite part is the album. It has a hole to hang on the wall and it is a ring binder that can be pulled apart so I can add stuff to it as the year progresses.  At the end of 2014 I will store it on the shelf with my scrapbooks so my family can enjoy.

I now have my heartfelt and meaningful gifts. Who do I think it would be a great gift for?
I think it's perfect for mothers and grandmothers. It's even perfect for the family memory keeper. I love it because I'm able to spend time with my family and cherish the little moments that make the holidays so fun.

Who will you make your Recollections Calendar for this Christmas?
