Studio Calico Reveal & June Project Life

It's reveal time again at Studio Calico. This month I worked with the Roundabout main Project Life kit,  the Roundabout card main kit, the Outer Banks add-on kit, the Project Life 4x6 Stamp add-on, and the Project Life add-on kit Cumberland Gap.

Here are my projects for the month. The first one uses the Project Life main kit only.

Our family follows the same routine every night at bedtime and while I've journaled about it here and there in my previous PL spreads I've never gone in to great detail. It is such an important part of our everyday lives that I decided it needed an entire spread devoted to it.
The Left page of the spread is a Becky Higgins design G page protector that I flipped upside down and used the front as the back. I used the digital printable 3x4 and enlarged it to a 4x6 for my Thankful Thoughts title.

For my two horizontal 3x4 cards I used my sewing machine to make a more secure pocket. I added stickers letter stickers to the Hello card since the thankful thoughts come from the month of May. I used one of the 3x4 cards to hand write my journaling and needed more space so I added a flip up page protector.

The journaling reads: Each evening at bedtime the girls snuggle up into bed and each of us shares something from the day that we are thankful for or grateful that happened. We also share our favorite part of the day. In January, I began a journal where I record our thankful thoughts and favorite parts of the day as each member of the family shares them. Then we give one big "family hug" where every one gives one giant bear hug at the same time. Followed by, "Do you know how much I love you?" and the girls answer back, "to the moon and back!" Then we finish our bedtime routine with a story and kisses before lights out and going to sleep. These precious evening moments with my girls and matt (on evenings when he is not on shift) have become my favorite part of everyday!
The Right side of the layout is page protector that I found stashed away that I believe is from a Becky Higgins Baby Kit years ago.... but I discovered you can easily make if you have a design e page protector or even a 12x12 protector and sewing machine. Just make sure you know what pictures you want where before you start sewing because once they are in place they are there permanently. I cut all of my photos to 3x3 and corner rounded them. I used the stickers for each family member and chose a few of their thankful thoughts throughout the month of May to highlight.

Project Life Week 17 | kits used: Roundabout Project Life Kit, Roundabout Card Kit, Cumberland Gap (Project Life Add-on), Outer Banks (Scrapbook add-on 1), Happy Little Moments Class Kit - Marcy, and the 4x6 Project Life Stamp add-on.
I was inspired by fellow design team member Catherine Davis's use of the digital stamp on her PL spread last month for her planetarium layout. I loved how she incorporated the stamp into her picture and added color at the same time.
All of my 3x4 cards and 4x6 cards are from the main Project Life kit. I used a 6x6 sheet from the main card kit underneath the Magical veneer that is from Marcy's, "Happy Little Moments" class, my week 17 title is made from the Hipster Acetate Alphas that are from Cumberland Gap (Project Life Add-on), and the 4x6" Alpha Stickers Vanilla that are from Outer Banks (Add-On 1)
This is the week that my husband and I celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary and the triple digit weather arrived in Arizona.....

Project Life Spread Art Show | kits used:
Roundabout Project Life & Card kit, the Outer banks Add-on, the Cumberland Gap Project Life Add-on, and embellishments from the Happy Little Moments class kit.

I love all of the beautiful artwork that my girls bring home from school as well as the ones they make at home, but sometimes.... or most of the time I don't have room to keep all of them..... so I decided to photograph some of my girls favorites from this school year and highlight them in one of my PL spreads.....
I used a Becky Higgins Photo Pocket Page Design F for the left side of the spread. I wanted the horizontal photo of the two girls to be in the center of the page with the art work surrounding it..(i.e. it's their artwork...this is what they have made...) but the page protector is set up with the 4x6 photo to be in the upper right corner. My solution was to divide that 4x6 pocket into two 3x4 vertical pockets for artwork and then place a 4x6 flip protector over the 2 middle 3x4 vertical pockets.
The end result: my 4x6 photo opened up to show my two daughters showing off their work at the art show to their daddy. By adding one flip protector I was able to add 3 extra photos to my layout...

On the right side of the layout I found an old page protector from my stash that I believe came from an old Becky Higgins Baby Kit. This part of the layout focused on horizontal artwork.
I took one pocket and used a sheet of paper from the Happy Little Moments Class and adhered a badge. I then made a confetti pocket with sequins and wood veneer hearts.
I ended up with quite a few pictures so I added an insert to hold the title card and several extra pieces of artwork. I used a Becky Higgins Photo Pocket Page Design H. I added both of the girls self-portraits from the beginning of the year.

Project Life Spread Camp Calico | kits used: Cumberland Gap, Project Life Add-on, Roundabout Main Card Kit, Roundabout Main Project Life Kit, and the Happy Little Moments Class Kits.
I used Becky Higgins Photo Pockets Design A to complete this project life spread. This was such a fun page to put together and I love the colors and how it turned out.
I used my new/old typewriter and typed my journaling onto the card with only a few errors. I was able to add lots of little facts about our trip using the 3x4 journaling card from the Cumberland Gap Project Life add-on kit and relive the trip all over again as I was making the page.
That's it for me for the month so far... I will have a weekly challenge up on the studio calico blog on June 3rd so make sure you check in for the challenge! To check out more of my galleries at studio calico go here. my galleries
