Creative Team August Inspiration

Hello Everyone, please join me and the entire Project Life Creative Team as we share a bit of Project Life inspiration on our blogs today.  Check out Becky's blog post today to see all the links to the Design Team.  Lots of fun ideas to incorporate into your Project Life layouts. I can't believe that it is August already.... and that my girls are back in school!!! Hopefully I will be able to get back to blogging at a more consistent basis.... and posting my layouts now that they have returned to school.

A couple of posts back I blogged about the New Plastics that Becky recently welcomed into the Project Life family and I'm proud to say that on Friday evening they made their arrival at my doorstep and I couldn't be more excited. I have the biggest smile on my face!!! Soon I will have some fun little creations to show you... possibly in the next few days... have you received your New Plastics yet?  Guess what? Becky gave me this set to giveaway to one of my readers!! So cool!!!

If you want to enter here are the details:
1. Since these products will be shipped directly from Amazon, the winner must be a U.S. resident.
2. To enter, leave a comment telling me something that makes you smile, on this post.
3. For an extra entry like CherishEveryday on Facebook and then leave a comment on this post telling me you did so.
4. I will close the comments at 8pm Mountain time on Thursday, August 16th and select a winner then.

Now onto the layouts.... this month I have two different weeks to show you, the first week is simple, no extra inserts, just photos and journaling, with a few added alpha stickers. The second week I had some more photos I wanted to highlight so I added some extra inserts. One of the reasons I love Project Life is that I can switch it up week to week.... depending upon what I want to document....or sometimes what I have the energy or time to document...because sometimes we all need a break....right?...

Overview of week 23 layout.
Closeup of the first part of the week.
Week in Review Card...from Marcy Penner... and I used the arrow stickers in the Clementine Core Kit to bullet point highlights of the week. I love doing this... totally becoming a staple for me... The letter stickers are: Lily Bee Design - Happily Lost Collection - 12 x 12 Cardstock Stickers - AlphabetLily Bee Design - This and That Collection - 12 x 12 Cardstock Stickers - AlphabetFancy Pants Designs - Childish Things Collection - Alphabet Cardstock Stickers
Second part of the week.... normal everyday shots.... and the bottom picture that is a picture of the bathing suit drawer.... I realize now it looks a little funny.... in this picture.
And that wraps up week 23 of in my Project Life album. I love how the colors came together on these pages.
Overview of Week Twenty-Five without the inserts.
(sometimes it helps to see it both ways)
Overview of Week Twenty-Five with the inserts included.
Closeup of the first part of the week. I used a Smash Top Ten Card to Journal some books that I have been wanting to read and am hoping to get before our upcoming beach vacation.
Insert One is a 12x12 Photo Protector from Becky's Big Pack of 12x12 Page Protectors (60 Pages) that I place a 8x12 photo of my daughter, Lilykate dressed as Merida from the Brave premiere. I added the photo and then sewed the protector with my sewing machine, then trimmed the excess plastic off. For more information on how to make your own custom page protector watch this video: Sewing a page protector
Overview of the back of insert one and the front of insert two.
Close up of the back of insert one.
Close up of Insert Two. Again I used a a 12x12 Photo Protector from Becky's Big Pack of 12x12 Page Protectors (60 Pages) this time I place a collage that I had made on Diptic on my IPhone from an annual trip that my husband takes each year. I enlarged the collage to 8x8 and made a similar one for the back side and adhered the two together.
I decided to make the photo collages look like they were somewhat floating on the page, so I took a piece of plain tape and taped it where I wanted it to be in the protector and then I went to my sewing machine and carefully sewed around the parameter of the photograph. My lines aren't perfect....but I like the way it turned out.....
Kinda funky....kinda cool... right???

Overview of the second part of the week.
I used the number stickers in the Clementine Core Kit to list my favorite T.V. shows this summer.

And just a close up of one of my favorite photos from this week.... it's nice not to always be the one behind the camera...  to sit back, relax, and let someone else capture those sweet little moments... so I can be a part of those moments too... because hey it's my story too, right? Sarah is an amazingly talented photographer who I am pretty lucky to call my friend... love that she gives me the chance to be included in some shots with my girls.... I will have to share our story (someday) about how we met over our mutual admiration for photographer Tara Whitney...

Overwhelmed?!? Don't be!!! Remember that Project Life is designed to SIMPLIFY the memory keeping process... don't over think it. You make the rules....it's your album....there are no Project Life Album Police. Make it work for you, so you can be successful!
