Project Life: Creative Team Inspiration

Creative Team Inspiration from January
(and yes I know that it is February)

I had high hopes of being able to complete a December Daily album this year. I wasn't able to keep up on a daily basis but the big envelope pages helped me to keep everything in one place.

For the 4x6 insert I used one of the digital papers from the Original Edition Project Life Paper Pack at Jessica Sprague, as the background.

I used one of Ali Edward’s Brushes for the title
…. super easy…super cute…easy way to keep all of my December Daily stuff together until I get time to scrap it….or even if I never get around to it….. it’s the perfect home for all of my holiday memorabilia.

One of my favorite things about Project Life is that there are no rules... it can be what ever you want it to be! That includes altering your page protectors anyway you want!  I want to challenge you to think outside of the box or rather inside of the page protector. There are so many more options to Project Life page protectors besides the way they come packaged. It’s okay to take your page trimmer and slice them up to make them work for you!

When taking on the challenge to do a December daily album…. I discovered I could alter Becky’s page protectors (insert happy dance) to fit in a smaller album. In this photo I used a 6x12 page protector and trimmed it down to 6 x 8.5. I used Design F and trimmed it down so there were 4 pockets.

Supplies Used:
6x12 Project Life Page Protectors
Design F Page Protector
Journaling Cards
Ali Edwards Brushes

I used Design F and trimmed it down so there were 4 pockets. I trimmed design A down to a 4x6 and repunch holes for it to fit into the album. I saved the remainder of the page protector to use for another project.

Supplies Used:
Design F Page Protector
Journaling Cards
Ali Edwards Brushes- Holiday Word Art Vol. 03
Design A Page Protector – cut down to 4x6

I trimmed design A down to a 4x6 and repunched holes for it to fit into the album. I saved the remainder of the page protector to use for another project. I trimmed Design A down so that I could use a 4x6 on the top and 2 smaller areas on the bottom. What I LOVE about Design A is that you can simply flip this protector over and have a completely different look. (4x6 is on the bottom)

Supplies Used:

Design A Page Protector - cut down to 4x6
Design A Page Protector – trimmed to 6 x 8.5 with room for a 4x6 at the top of page and smaller journaling cards or photos at the bottom.
Number 4 circle – Studio Calico

Two Letters – American Crafts

Back side of insert one, 12x12 Ali Edward's Template reduced to 6x6.
Here is the psd of the insert....just because I love it and you can't see the view of it in the album that well....
The second insert is a 6x12.

  3. I love the way you trimmed down the page protectors for your album. This is something I could do. Maybe next year! Your album is just amazing!!

  4. How do you use the rest of the page protector after you have trimmed it down? Do you have to sew one edge so that things don't fall out? also, the leftovers have smaller pockets now because you lose part of them to the punched holes. Great inspiration though, I love working in A5 size and this has made it possible to use project life page protectors for my journal.

  5. I love that you've trimmed down your page protectors to A5 too! I work on A5 to create my journal and this has inspired me to use project life page protectors, just one question: what do you do with the 'left-overs'? Do you have to sew them so that things don't fall out? also some of the pockets become smaller because space is lost to the hole-punch, do you see this as a problem? So many questions, I'm sorry. I love your blog and I love this project! Keep it up! Sian xx
