Project Life Creative Team Inspiration February Edition
For those of you who are new to blog, welcome! I'm so excited to share the first two weeks of my 2012 Project Life album with you. This year (as in years past) I've decided to keep the base pages or my weekly pages consistent using only style A page protectors. I plan on adding different style page protectors as inserts, layering them in between the style A page protectors when I need additional space to tell the story with pictures or words. I alter the majority of my inserts because I like when they are smaller than the main pages. For week one and two I've used the Project Life Core Kit - Clementine Edition
Overview of week one
Close up of week one. This year I am doing a week at glance instead of a photo-a-day. This gives me more freedom to add additional pictures from an event and not feel guilty if I didn't get pictures everyday of the week. I added some extras this year....embellishments....something I didn't do last year.....I LOVE how it turned out, but it also took some time....so we'll see if I continue to do that throughout the year or not....
Additional Supplies Used:
Arrow on Journaling Card: Studio Calico Calico Self-Adhesive Scrap Pads-7 Styles/1 EachMartha Stewart Red Circle Labels
My first insert I used Becky Higgins Photo Pocket Pages - Design E trimmed to 6x6. I trimmed one of the Clementine journaling cards and made a tab for the protector. I used my corner rounder to give it a more finished look and then used packing tape to provide stability....and mostly because I didn't want it to get torn apart.
The back side of my first insert. This was a menu that I saved from a rare lunch out with my family. I took photos that I had taken with my iPhone and put them into a 4x6 photo template from Designs by Lili (she designed the Clementine Project Life Kit). I trimmed off the bottom portion of the photo and adhered it to the menu....and it ended up looking like a photo strip..... I have to admit, I did a little happy dance after this....
The second insert I used a Becky Higgins Photo Pocket Pages Design C. I trimmed it down to three horizontal pictures. I unfolded a journaling card and told the story of my daughter's first visit to the dentist. I trimmed a journaling card down to make a tab for my insert and reinforced it with clear packaging tape.
The dentist office gave Lilykate a picture of her teeth and she was so proud of it, she showed that xray to everyone and then asked me to put it in our family album. The note sticker is from Studio Calico.
Close up of the second page. I used an instagram shot from my phone. A Tiny Template from Cathy Z. I used a fold up journaling card to tell a private story about a family photo shoot. And I used another 4x6 photo template from Designs by Lili.
That's a wrap of week one....I so love this project.....

Insert one Becky Higgins Photo Pocket 6x12. I did a recap of me and where I'm at the beginning of my 34th year since I just had a birthday....I included some goals....and just some basic stuff about me at this time period in my life. Supplies used: Ali Edwards
My Father-in-law sent me an email, with the cutest story about him and my girls, he even sent photos....I knew that it was something that I would want to keep and for the girls to be able to read in the future so I copied and pasted the email into one of Ali'sI used the photos that he sent me and made a collage and then added them into the template.
My 3rd insert is Becky Higgin's Photo Pocket Page Design A trimmed down so it fits 2 horizontal photos front and back. I took a sheet music that my husband was playing that day, scanned it, and reduced it in photo shop. I also included 2 guitar picks and sewed them into the photo pocket so they won't fall out. I added an American Craft tab and stamped the date on it. Martha Stewart Label.
