Project Life a closer look

A closer look into the week of February 20th in my 2011 Project Life Album.

Overview of the entire week. I added a cool 4x6 accordion page protector to add more photos. That I fell in love with after using it and of course can no longer find to purchase.....arrgh.... so annoying!! I also added 2 extra inserts this week.

This is the cool little accordion photo that pulled out and had like 4 photos behind....bad shot of the actual accordion part..... =( The company I ordered these beauties from no longer carries them....I've sent emails to the manufacturer but have yet to hear from them.....So if anyone knows where I could purchase these.....please let me know!!!

My first extra insert of the week. Allowed me to add 6 extra photos from our trip up north.

My second insert of the week. It was the girls first time to see and play in snow. I enlarged the photos to 12x12 and printed them at home. I always get asked where I print my pictures or if I print them at home....I print them at home on my Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Inkjet Photo Printer (3295B002)
It was a huge investment in the beginning but it has paid for itself over and over again. I have saved so much money because now I only print what I need as opposed to ordering a bunch of photos and enlargements...picking them up and trying to make them work into the project. Being able to print at home is one of the reasons I able to be successful with Project Life. I get all of my paper from Costco except for my large format paper (anything bigger than 8.5 x11) I order it from Canon on Black Friday and stock up for the year.

This is still the second insert opened up. I could have done one 12 x 24 picture, but I chose to do two 12x12 photos. This is a swinging page protector that I think is just a fun little addition to the album.
C-Line - Memory Book - Page Protectors - 12 x 12 Clear - Panoramic Fold-Out - 6 Pack

Back of the second insert. 12x12 digital collage template.....I think this is from Ali Edwards December  Daily Templates last year.

And an overview of the right side of the page or the second part of the week....whichever way you want to look at it.

This is the week of March 5th.... a pretty straight forward week.....on a couple of the photos I had vertical pictures instead of horizontal, so I used photoshop and put the images side by side. It was a quick and easy way to add some extra photos.

  3. Love the layouts - and I love how you add extra photos. I'd love to know any tips you have for photoshop - and/or templates you'd recommend to a beginner. I'm sure others have covered the topic - but I like multiple perspectives.

  5. I love your work., I was wondering do you ever do or have done a separate book for each child. My daughter is 6.5 (bday in 2 weeks, ) and Im only up to age 2 for her.. and my son is 3.5 and I am workign onhis first year of life. But I am thinking to put it all together after that ... so daughter 3 years on with him and his birth that year all together PL style. I have started to encorperate PL style to his book the birth year and my daughters. I was just wondering about this. Also I would love a tutorial on all teh size page protectors you can create which ones to use to make special sizes. I love the variety in your albums. Sorry so long. Thanks for your time. I look forward to seeing more of you work!

  8. Have you seen Flip Flaps from Close to My Heart? They are similar to the accordion picture holder, but they come in different sizes. Just thought I would suggest them, since you can no longer buy the others!

  10. I was just going to write the same thing as the comment above...how/where do you print your pictures? What is your process for printing? That is the hardest part for me of Project Life...the printing. Thanks! Your Project Life is absolutely amazing. SO beautiful.
