The Big Day has Finally Arrived!!!

2012 Inaugural Project Life Creative Team
I can finally let you all in on a little secret that I have been keeping…. I have been dying to tell you all, but I was sworn to secrecy, so I am happy to finally be able to share my news!!!
I have been chosen to be a member of the Project Life Creative Team for 2012. When Becky emailed me and told me that they were putting together a Creative Team for Project Life and she wanted me to be a part of it…. I literally squealed out loud!

I am honored and excited to be working with Becky Higgins and the amazing, talented, team of handpicked designers she chose for the Inaugural Project Life Creative Team for 2012. I can't wait to begin sharing some of my ideas with new plastics that just came out....seriously I am in LOVE....they are die for....the possibilities are, so, so, excited to play with the new plastic family!!! (that is what I like to call them).

Becky asked each of us several questions and wanted us to answer them on our blogs/websites for you to get to know us a little bit better….  so here goes…
Why are you doing Project Life?
I am a wife to a firefighter and momma to two precious little girls who constantly keep me on my toes with their curiosity and wild imaginations. Everyday is busy and full of wonderful and challenging moments that bring growth and happiness into our lives. Ordinary days filled with special moments I don't want to forget. My scrapbooking time is limited, and Project Life simplifies how I document my life and preserve our family memories. Without Project Life I wouldn’t have the time to document or scrapbook our family memories. Project life has literally revolutionized the way I scrapbook.

What does Project Life Means to you?

I am passionate about Project Life. Project Life tells my story…. about my family and life from my perspective. For me, it is a reminder to pick up my camera and capture the everyday. The focus is on the little ordinary everyday moments that make my life so wonderful. It is a place to record the funny things that my girls say, or a place to put a note that my husband left for me. It lets me bring a favorite photo that Grammy took while the girls were visiting her house, and mix them with receipts & drawings and ticket stubs. It tells a story about our lives that most of my old scrapbooks never did. I love looking through my albums. I love watching my girls look through the albums. I love this project. My family loves this project. I love seeing people get interested about Project Life and that makes me love it even more!!!

How has Project Life blessed you?
Project Life has enriched my life in so many ways…. this year was full of difficult and challenging times…. it helped me grow as a person.
Project Life helped me through the tough times…. it showed me God’s loving grace…. and helped me focus on the all of the good in my life.
I believe that Project Life will teach and show my girls that life isn’t always perfect, nor does it have to be to have a wonderful and fulfilling life.
Project Life has brought new friends into my life.

What is your approach to Project Life?
Last year my approach was a picture a day. This year I began with a picture a day and about midway through the year I was inspired by Ali Edwards to approach Project Life weekly. I started thinking about a “week” vs. making sure I get a photo on each and every day. Most of the time I do get a photo a day, but it’s not because I feel like I need to for this project it’s just because I love to take photos. Approaching project life from a week-at-a-glance allows me to add more photos from an event and just feels a little less restrictive. There’s something about thinking about it as a week-at-a-glance vs. a daily record of our life this year that is really working for me.

Once again.....I'm so ridiculously excited to be a part of this team and humbled to be working with THE Becky Higgins. Most of all I'm excited to share how much joy project life has added to my life....and what I once thought was a completely ordinary life is an extraordinary life for the very fact that it is my life.

  10. I am so glad I was able to find your blog from Becky Higgin's site. LOVE your project life, I think I've watched all of your videos now! I have a quick question though, what kind of page protectors are you using that are slightly smaller than 12X12 with all of the small photo pockets? I would love to get some, I always have more photos I want to add each week! Thanks so much for sharing your PL! I can't wait to see what is to come!

  11. Congrats - what a dream come true!!! I've so enjoyed your PL inspiration ever since Becky pointed you out last spring, and had to tell you I loved the freedom I felt when I gave myself permission to NOT take a picture a day, every single day. Phew! what a relief it's been - can't wait for your post about your craftroom "evolution" :)
