Celebrating 8 years Together!

Today my husband and I are celebrating are 8th year of being married together and of course being the scrapbooker that I am I saved our wedding ceremony and thought I would share part of it with you today....along with some of my favorite pictures from the day.....one that will always be one of the cherished and memorable days of my life!

getting ready for the big day
One of my favorite part of the ceremonies was a part where we each took the other's hands and did a little presentation that went like this:

MaryAnn, take Matt's hands palms up so that you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young, strong, vibrant, that hold yours on your wedding day, as he pledges his love and commitment to you all the days of his life.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.
These are the hands that will wipe the tears from your eyes: both tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief threaten your peace of mind.
These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin in order to gaze deeply into your eyes, eyes that fill him with wonder and a deep abiding love for you.

Now Matt, take MaryAnn's hands palms up so that you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young, strong, vibrant, that hold yours on your wedding day, as she pledges her love and commitment to you all the days of her life.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when are grieving.
These are the hands that will give you the support you need as she encourages you to capture your dreams.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years for a lifetime of happiness.

Loving God, bless these hands that you see before You this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. Keep them tender and gentle as they build their life of a devoted, caring, relationship, rich in kindness, wondrous in their love. Amen

My Vows to Matt:
We come here as two people who know who we are; neither of us could be who we are today, or could offer ourselves to each other without having lived the lives we lived yesterday. You gave me trust when my heart would not return it, patience when I gave you fury, and softness when I thought my wounds would never heal. Where there has been cold, you have been cold, you have brought warmth; where my life has been dark, you have brought light. You have accepted my burdens and encircled me with love and gentleness. I pledge to you this day a love I didn't know was mine to give, a commitment that I will always be by your side. Without hesitation, I choose to love and confide in you, to believe in and to share with you, to learn and grow with you. With all that I am and all that I have, I honor you and seek to achieve the life that we have planned together.

I love you more today than I did back than and I look forward to the future with you and our girls!!! I love you so much babe!
